2011 Game Summaries

4/16/11: Warriors Overcome Enforcers To Remain Unbeaten

Arkansas Warriors QB Bryan Adair scored a rushing touchdown and caught a touchdown pass from QB Marcus London (5 of 13, 124 yards, 1 TD) as the Warriors rallied from a 14-6 halftime deficit to defeat the Enid Enforcers (3-2) and move to 6-0 on the season. With the win, the Warriors will host in the Central Football League playoffs which begin on June 4th.

Enid got on the board first in the second quarter with a 51 yard touchdown pass and the Warriors answered with a 29 yard touchdown run by Wayne Hall. Hall finished the night with 63 yards and has 515 total rushing yards on the season. Enid took the lead 14-6 with a 38 yard interception return for a touchdown off QB Marcus London as time expired in the first half.

The Warriors proved too much for Enid in the second half scoring 28 unanswered points. On the opening possession of the second half the Warriors capped a 70 yard drive with Adair scoring on a 3 yard run. Former Razorback Jason Campbell recorded 2 interceptions (73 career) and kicked a 36 yard field goal and Linebacker Eric Perkins and Defensive Back Hunter Keith each recovered fumbles for touchdowns. Adair caught a 9 yard touchdown pass in the 4thquarter to secure the win over Enid.

The Warriors will return to action April 30thin Decatur as they will host the Arkansas Cowboys in their final regular season home game before they travel to the Kansas Cougars on May 7thto start a 3 game road trip to end the season. 4/9/11: Warriors Move To 5-0

The #13 ranked Arkansas Warriors blanked the Paris, AR Golden Eagles 40-0 Saturday night at Decatur High School to move to 5-0 on the season. Quarterback Bryan Adair threw an 8-yard touchdown strike to Lane Florquist and Quarterback Marcus London scored on a 1-yard touchdown run as the Warriors built a 27-0 lead at halftime. Running Back Tracey Smith also scored a rushing touchdown. The offensive line also got in on the scoring action when 6’1” 310lbs offensive lineman Jacob Triplett punched in a 4-yard touchdown run and the Warriors offense broke the 1000-yard rushing threshold in only their 5thgame of the season. The Warriors defense, currently #1 in the nation, held the Golden Eagles(2-4) to minus 41-rushing yards, 8-passing yards, and allowed only 2-first downs the entire night. The defense has allowed 42-total rushing yards this season. Former Razorback Dahron Moss returned an interception 48-yards for a touchdown and former MSSU linebacker Rafael Brewster recorded two sacks to lead the defense. The win puts the Warriors in a tie for first place in the Central Football league with the #5 ranked Kansas Cougars (5-0) and earned the Warriors a berth to the 2011 Arkansas Adult Amateur Football Championship to be played at War Memorial Stadium in Little rock on July 30th. The Warriors will host the Enid Enforcers (3-1) this Saturday in Decatur. Kick-off is set for 6pm.

4/2/11: Warriors Remain Unbeaten

The #17 nationally ranked Arkansas Warriors moved to 4-0 in the Central Football League with a 48-7 win over the Duncan (OK) Diamonds Saturday at Decatur High School. Deandre Downing rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns in the first half and QB Bryan Adair scored on a 8yd touchdown run to lead the Warriors on the ground. Behind their huge offensive line, the Warriors have rushed for 935 yards and 13 touchdowns in the first four games of the season. Linebackers Josh Anderson and Jacob Kirksey each returned a fumble for a touchdown and former Razorback Jason Campbell recorded his 71stcareer and 5thinterception on the season to lead a Warriors defense that has allowed only 77 total rushing yards in their first four games of 2011. The Warriors will face the Paris Arkansas Golden Eagles (2-3) this Saturday at 6pm in Decatur. The winner of this Saturdays game will advance to participate in the first Arkansas Adult Amateur Football State Championship to be held at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on July 30thand will face the winner of the Alliance Football League series matchup between the Little Rock Arkansas Sabers and Harrison Arkansas Cowboys. The Sabers and the Cowboys will play June 4thand July 9th. The Arkansas AAF State Championship will match the best Arkansas adult amateur football teams, most often referred to as semi-pro or minor league football, each year in the State Championship.

3/26/11: Warriors beat Crusaders in 2 OT 23-17;
Remain Undefeated in CFL
The Arkansas Warriors (3-0) defeated the Joplin Crusaders (3-1) 23-17 Saturday night in Decatur, AR. Wayne Hall rushed for 126 yds on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns, the final being the game winner in the second overtime period, Quarterback Marcus London threw a 32 yard touchdown pass to Blake Kingfisher, and former Razorback Jason Campbell had two interceptions bringing his Semi-pro career record to 70 interceptions and helped to snap the Crusaders seven year dominance over the Warriors. The Warriors were 0-12 against the Crusaders dating back to 2005. Joplin who had outscored their previous three opponents 106-0, were no match for the Warriors powerful running game behind Hall and former Razorback Tracey Smith. In the first three games of the season Hall has rushed 39 times for 455 yards and 5 touchdowns and the Warriors defense led by Defensive Coordinator Stacey Rubin, has not allowed over 100 total yards rushing this season. Arkansas’ win moves them into a tie with last year’s CFL Champion Kansas Cougars (3-0) and sets the showdown in Kansas on May 7th for a possible preview of the 2011 CFL Championship.

3/12/11: Warriors move to 2-0 with 26-6 win

The Arkansas Warriors of the Central Football League defeated the Duncan OK Diamonds (0-2) 26-6 Saturday at Decatur High School. QB’s Bryan Adair and Marcus London combined for 114-yards passing with Adair scoring on a 8 yard touchdown run and the Warriors offensive line paved the way for 247-yards rushing following last week’s 258-yard ground performance. Wayne Hall recorded his second straight 100-yard game with 126-yards rushing and a touchdown and Jason Campbell returned a Diamond punt 78-yards for a touchdown to put the Warriors up 19-6 at the half. A big factor in the Warriors early season success has been Defensive Coordinator Stacey Rubin’s stifling defense. The Warriors defense held the Diamonds to 73-yards of total offense Saturday night allowing only 3 rushing yards and last week the defense held the Arkansas(Ft. Smith) Lions to 88 total yards with minus 6-yards rushing in a 51-0 win. Defensive leaders Rafael Brewster, Eric Perkins, Jessie Wert, and Moses Smith combined for 12 tackles for losses, including five of the defense’s 7 sacks on the night. Hunter Keith and J.J. Watson each had an interception in the game. One of Arkansas’ biggest games of the season will be the Warriors next game on March 26th in Decatur when they face long time rival and league powerhouse, the Joplin Crusaders (2-0). Arkansas has a bye week March 19th. The Crusaders are 8 time CFL champions and the Warriors, who lost 12-10 in the final seconds of last year’s game, are 0-12 against the Crusaders dating back to 2005.

3/5/11: Arkansas Warriors win season opener 51-0

The Arkansas Warriors opened their 2011 season with a 51-0 win over the Arkansas(Ft. Smith) Lions Saturday night at Decatur High School. Running backs Tracey Smith(Arkansas) and Wayne Hall(Arkansas Tech) scored two rushing TD’s each and former Siloam Springs QB Bryan Adair threw two touchdown passes. Josh Walker(Tulsa) returned a 67 yd interception for a TD and Jason Campbell recorded his 68th career interception as the Warriors built a 37-0 halftime lead and cruised to victory.
